چکیده

In this paper, hybrid pulse width modulation algorithm for vector controlled induction motor drives is used to reduce the steady state ripple in current. Also the newly developed Hybrid PWM technique does not use angle and sector information and hence it simplifies the control algorithm. The conventional Space vector pulse width modulation (CSVPWM) algorithm gives inferior performance at higher modulation indices. As the CSVPWM is a continuous PWM (CPWM), it gives more switching losses. Discontinuous PWM is used at the higher modulation indices. Hybrid PWM (HPWM) algorithm uses the SVPWM and discontinuous PWM (DPWM) algorithms. The proposed HPWM algorithm uses the concept of imaginary switching times which are derived from instantaneous phase voltages. Performance of vector controlled induction motor drive at all modulation indices is improved by using MATLAB /SIMULINK

Space Vector Pulse Width Modulation with Reduced Common Mode Voltage and Current Losses for Six-Phase Induction Motor Drive with Three-Level Inverter

Common-mode voltage (CMV) generated by the inverter causes motor bearing failures in multiphase drives. On the other hand, presence of undesired z-component currents in six-phase induction machine (SPIM) leads to extra current losses and have to be considered in pulse width modulation (PWM) techniques. In this paper, it is shown that the presence of z-component currents and CMV in six phase driv...

Efficiency Improvement of Induction Motor using Fuzzy-Genetic Algorithm

In most industrial zones, electric energy is one of the most important energy sources. Since electrical motors are the main energy consumers of industrial factories, consumption optimization in these motors can be considered as a main option related to energy saving. One very effective way to reduce the consumption of these equipment is to use a motor speed controllers or drives. Since the loss...
